How do you know when an Employer has awarded you a project?
Once you submit a proposal through Guru.com, it's natural to feel anxious to hear back from your potential Employer. While you aren't able to check the "status" of your proposal, you can watch for three things that let you know when an Employer has officially awarded you a project:
- You will receive a 'Project Award - Offered' email from Guru.com.
In real time, you will be alerted when an Employer selects you for hire.
- You will receive an online Project Alert with the subject line "Project Award - Offered."
To view your alerts, on the top navigation bar, click "Messages," and click "Project Alerts."
- The project will appear under the 'Awarded Projects' tab of your Project Tracker.
To confirm this, on the top navigation bar, click "Manage," and click "Awarded Projects."
When you are receive a Project Award, reread the original project description, your proposal, and any messages the Employer may have sent. If you are certain that you are willing and able to complete the project, accept the award through your My Projects page and start working on your Project Agreement to outline a timeframe and final products.
Remember: Only when an Employer sends you a Project Award have you been awarded a project officially. For your protection and proper compensation, you should never work on a project until you have received these three indicators and created a Project Agreement.
When working with a new Employer, use Guru.com's SafePay service to avoid unpaid invoices. Simply create a SafePay request and ask your Employer to pay 100% of the payment to Guru.com before you begin work.
You might receive a message from an Employer who would like to hire you, but isn't sure how to do that. Again, for your own security, ask your Employer to send an official Guru.com Project Award. If the Employer needs assistance, ask them to contact us or refer them to Awarding a Project in our Help Center. |
