Hi,

There's some good and some bad with the new design.

First, the good:

A) The ability to do in-place filtering on the same search page is an improvement, without having to click around on multiple pages.

B) The popup details about the project are nice.

C) The top-line showing the active filters clearly spelled out are nice.

The Bad:

1) The new layout only allows for 7 projects per page view. Note that the current system allows for 20 projects per page view. The old default of 20 was preferable. Note that Google allows this number to be changed. Please keep the default at 20, and allow a max of 50-100 per page view, again like Google does.

2) Where did the Project ID# go on the Project Search page? It is critical - please left it at the far left-hand side of each project listing.

3) Please include a "Project Viewed" indication, just like you currently do. It can be in the same location as the Proposal Submitted indicator.

4) It would be best to include something like the clear and easy-to-read font and colors styling of the current Project Search page.

5) I suggest that for Guru Vendor listings, you include both the guru vendor icon and the words "Guru Vendor" in each applicable listing for clarity. The small icon is too hard to decipher all by itself.

6) The new layout loses the alternating rows background shading. Please add that back in again.

7) The new layout seems somewhat narrow and constricted. It is also nearly an inch narrower than before from left to right. You can free up a lot of space by moving the left-hand category selections to a couple of dependent dropdowns showing the relevant categories at the top. This will allow the new layout to be similar to what it was before, which was very nice for heavy users.

8) Please add back the nice-to-know client data including total spent, total paid, projects posted, and rating data that currently shows on the project search page.

Suggestion: I currently have a browser button that serves as a hyperlink to exactly the area in guru.com that I am frequently reviewing. When creating the new system, please allow us to hyperlink to the exact project search are that are often reviewed by incorporating something into the URL that identifies the search criteria – it is a very nice convenience, and I don’t want to lose it.

Basically, there is a lot to like in the current project search listings, but the additions of in-place filtering is a nice new ease-of-use feature. So when the new search page is developed, please keep most of the current search layout that we all like so much while adding the in-place filtering.

Also, a new mobile interface would be nice. If it is effective, I can see it being more useful in the future.

Thanks!

One more thing - The Posting and Expiration dates are much less useful as shown on this example are less useful than simply showing the "Days Left" as you currently do for each project posting.

Is GURU trying to replicate the features of other webstie? It looks similar to www.elance.com. Other's opinion may be more important and appreciable but I personally don't like it. GURU have it's own reputation. Maintain it's uniqueness.

I don't see much difference than what we already have. How about adding a search against an Employer ID so we can see all the projects one employer posts? We need this.

It looks a bit like Elance. I think Guru should keep its unique look. You know what they say, "If it ain't broke....." Just my humble opinion.

I suppose that a search condition can be saved for use at next time.

I think we definitely need the Project ID displayed prominently.

Also, the "Can't Apply" should be grayed out or red, and the "Apply Now" should be green.

I would also like to see when a project was awarded, as far as date AND time.

Another thing that is needed and not listed here is when you perform a search, then submit a proposal, you can click a button that says "Go back to the previous search results." That button takes you back to the search area where you then have to fill out all the criteria again. It would be better to go back to the previous search and be on the same page that you were previously on.

This would be handy for notifications as well instead of returning to page 1.

I'd also like to see more useful breadcrumbs within the site and better linking - don't just have the popup tell me to go to my project tracker where it says "Project ASDF is not listed here," take me there.
