A New Way To Navigate Guru.com, Coming December 4
29-Nov-2011 Email Email   Print Print

Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication and your new navigation is just that. It’s the same Guru system you know and love but with simpler options.

  • My Account – This is your launching pad. Get anywhere you need to be in one click.
  • Leads – Look up the leads you have and make sure you're checking in to be first for new projects.
  • Proposals – Submit proposals for projects in just a few simple steps.
  • Projects – Manage the projects Employers have awarded you and keep your Employers up to date.
  • Payments – Send invoices and request SafePay fund releases here so you can get paid.
  • Search – Browse Guru.com’s project pool and submit proposals.
  • Messages – Quick access to your messages from any page so you’ll always be quick to respond.
  • Alerts - When the indicator is red, click it to see your newest project alerts.

Along with the new navigation, Guru welcomes a new design to their homepage. Below is a sneak peak of what is to come.

We're making the navigation easier. On December 4, use it and let us know what you think.

And how does one simply view recently posted jobs in any categories? Is there a bug? I see a blank screen.

How do I "Search for Projects"? Now all I see are the projects under " Leads" which is quite limiting.

All -

You can search for projects by entering a keyword term in the 'Find Projects' field, located at the upper-right corner of the page. Alternately, clicking the magnifying glass icon will take you to the 'Search for Projects' page. From this point, you will be able to set, and save, various search refinements.

where did the proposal template link go?

Back2DLab Web Design & Marketing

Considering the "finding projects" search button is the main reason why freelancers would come to Guru, the magnifying glass in the corner may not be the most obvious way one would search. Most people would have to "hunt" for this. Is this your goal?

Justice Solutions LLC - Look for the 'Proposal Template Manager' link under the 'Projects & Leads' section of your 'My Account' page. Hope this helps!

How to sort projects by budget?

Jason - Guru.com Team
08:40 AM on 07-Dec-2011
MAKE EIT SOLUTIONS - To sort projects by budget: Navigate to the 'Search for Projects' page by clicking the magnifying glass located at the upper-right area of the page. Once you are on the 'Search for Projects' page, the 'Sort by' options are presented directly above and below the search results. Here, you'll be able to sort your results by 'Budget - highest first' or 'Budget - lowest first'. I hope this helps!

It's too difficult to find projects, the search feature needs to be more prominent, why is it not a main focus on this new design? Not everything was broken on the old guru site....some of these new changes don't make sense and doesn't improve the usability on this portal.

Umm.. Why is everyone loving this change so much? It took me twenty minutes to discover how to search for projects. Seeing as that's one of the primary functions on Guru, shouldn't it have been made a bit more obvious?

There should be a way to sort project search results to remove projects you are not eligible to bid on.

pls make changes where we can respond to projects in the same page...and to know which employer(name or company or ther Username ) to have an idea...

Jason - Guru.com Team

Jedit - Actually, there is way to do this. Look for the 'Settings' options on the 'Search for Projects' page. Among the options listed there is the ability to "Show only projects I can apply for". I hope this helps. Thanks!
