Post a Project
The most straightforward way of explaining your project needs, posting your project will have you reading quotess and following up with Freelancers within hours. The Freelancers come to you!
This method allows you to collect competitive bids from experienced Freelancers who meet your exact criteria, but first you must lay a solid foundation for Freelancers to write accurate and high-quality quotes.
Cover basic information (such as the nature of the work, timeframe, and location), but also fill your project description with details: Is this a work-for-hire? Will you require a non-disclosure agreement? Must the work be done on-site? Would you prefer to work with a Guru Vendor? To better illustrate your project, you may upload up to 2 MB of relevant files. To refine your results, you may invite only specific Freelancers to bid on the work. You may also require Freelancers to answer up to three project-specific questions to assure that they give your proposal adequate consideration.

Search for Freelancers
Guru.com features a "Search" function that allows you to handpick Freelancers based on your exact criteria. Narrow your search based on primary and secondary skill categories, location, and more. You can also browse Work Samples and evaluate Freelancers ' feedback ratings. If you find a promising candidate, or if you already have a specific person in mind for your work, you can click either "Request a Quote" or "Ask a Question."
With the "Request a Quote" option, you may invite one or more Freelancers to an existing project or create a new project posting for the invitation. The Freelancers will receive a "Project Invitation" notification that brings them directly to your posting.
The "Ask a Question" option allows you to make specific inquiries of Freelancers using Project Messages. This direct link will help you find the people who best meet your standards and who are truly eager and able to complete your work.
The messages you exchange with a Freelancer can be a strong indicator of how successful your working relationship will be. If your correspondence is timely, professional, and comprehensive, it's likely that the actual project will go as smoothly.
Messages are a good forum for you if your project is vague and still requires some definition. After getting in touch with a Freelancer, you can determine together a specific solution for the work to be done. You can then post an "Invitation Only" project and invite the Freelancer.
